On Sunday 30th of July the city of Hyvinkää is celebrating its 100th birthday. At the Finnish Railway Museum the day is a banquet of a picnic and good music in the picturesque museum park. The museum’s summer café serves a cake buffet for the picnic-goer.
The event will be opened at 10.15 by the mayor of Hyvinkää. After the welcoming words singer Seppo Lammi will perform 10.30 and again at 12.00. The children’s rock band Mörriganes performs at 11.30 and 12.30. In the afternoon, the band Parantolan puisto will play at 14.00 and 15.00.
On the museum’s track “the Leena”-locomotive operates and drives the passengers with its III-class car. Tickets 2 €, children under 7 years old free. If the weather conditions are favorable, the miniature train also operates in the park area.
In honour of the celebration the city of Hyvinkää shares 300 balloons to the children. A children’s handicraft section can be found in the engine shed between 10.30-12.30 and 13.15-16.30.
The event and the exhibitions of the museum can be entered free of charge during the Hyvinkää-day. The museum is open 10–17. Welcome!
