There are attractions for the whole family in the Finnish Railway Museum during the autumn holiday week 18.-23.10.2016.
In the Stationmaster’s tasks -tour the children will solve puzzles which the stationmaster has given to Justus train student together with the museum guide. Justus wants to become a steam engine driver but he forgot to finish the stationmaster’s tasks in time and he needs the children to finish them for him. Autumn holiday tours are in Finnish and they are meant for families. The tour will start at 11 a.m. from the museum’s lobby. Participation on the tour is included in the normal admission fee.
In the first day in autumn holiday week Tuesday 18.10., it is also possible to hop onboard the historic steam locomotive “Leena” and experience the railway atmosphere of the olden days! “Leena” operates on the museum´s track between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Ticket prices: 2€ per person, children under 7 years of age travel free of charge.
On Tuesday 18.10. the museum café serves customers in the old railway station of Hanko - Hyvinkää railway. The railway station dates back to the 1870's. From the café you may buy both sweet and salty delicacies and refreshments. From Wednesday to Friday the museum café is located in the 1950's buffet car.
You may as also try your gaming skills during the autumn holiday as there's a collection of railway themed board games available to try in the museum.
